PVC Air Hose – Lightweight, Kink-Resistant, Medium-Duty

Air hoses wear out. On construction sites, in shipyards, on farms, the pattern is usually the same: heavy, stiff hoses that kink easily, interrupt the airflow, and break down under oil and harsh weather. The hose gets replaced. Then replaced again. Replacement costs are part of the operating budget whether anyone budgets for them or not. This PVC air hose is built to end that cycle — a general-purpose line that balances flexibility, durability, and chemical tolerance for medium-duty work.
Lightweight and Kink-Resistant
Weight is the first thing that separates this hose from rubber. Rubber hoses of similar ratings do the job, but they’re heavier, and after hours of holding a pneumatic tool, that weight shows up as fatigue. This hose is designed to be lightweight and highly flexible, so extended use doesn’t wear the operator down as quickly.
The kink-resistant construction is where the practical difference shows. A kinked hose interrupts the flow — air stops, work stops. This hose keeps air and water moving even when it’s bent around equipment or dragged across rough surfaces, which is exactly what happens on a normal job site. And at the end of the day, it coils up easily and stores compactly, without taking up excessive space in a service truck or workshop.
Built to Handle the Conditions
The outer cover is compounded for on-site conditions. It resists UV degradation from prolonged sun exposure — the kind of exposure hoses get when they stay on a site. It resists abrasion from being dragged over concrete. And it tolerates exposure to mild chemicals and oil. That puts it to work in construction, mining, and industrial workshops without special handling.
Temperature behavior is part of that durability. The working range runs from -5°C to +65°C. Within that range, physical properties stay stable: the hose doesn’t stiffen excessively when the weather turns cold, and it doesn’t soften excessively when temperatures climb. Hoses sit on sites year-round, and the environment doesn’t wait for the forecast.
More Than Just an Air Hose
Air is the primary job. Pneumatic tools, air compressors, general utility lines — this hose handles them as a dependable medium-duty line. But it doesn’t stop at air. The same construction moves water, and it’s widely used for transferring mild chemicals as well. In agriculture and shipyards, it serves as a general fluid transfer line day to day.
Know the limits, though. This is a medium-duty hose for general applications. It is not intended for high-pressure specialty systems, and it’s not for highly aggressive solvents. For those jobs, there are hoses designed specifically for them. This isn’t one.
Specifications
The line covers inner diameters from 1/4 inch (6 mm) to 1 inch (25 mm), so there’s a size for most flow needs:
  • Working pressure: 20 bar (300 psi) or 30 bar (450 psi), depending on size
  • Burst pressure: 60–120 bar (900–1800 psi) — a solid 3:1 safety margin
  • Outer diameter: 11.5 mm (1/4-inch) to 35 mm (1-inch)
  • Weight: 102 g/m (1/4-inch) to 640 g/m (1-inch)
  • Coil length: 100 m for 1/4-inch to 1/2-inch sizes; 50 m for 5/8-inch to 1-inch sizes
That margin is worth reading twice. It means the hose is rated to take three times its working pressure before bursting — the gap between normal operation and failure is built in from the start. For a hose that runs all day, that’s not a small detail.
What It Costs to Own
For facility managers and technicians, this hose fills a specific gap. The cheapest tubing is short-lived; replacing it repeatedly costs more in the long run. Heavy-duty rubber and specialty hoses perform well but come at a higher price. This hose sits between them — budget-friendly, while still delivering consistent performance for medium-duty air, water, and mild chemical transfer.
The practical part is sizing. Choose the right inner diameter and pressure rating for the application, and the hose performs predictably: stable performance, reduced downtime, fewer unplanned replacements. That predictability is what makes it a sensible consumable — the kind of product you buy, install, and stop thinking about.
